FREE WEEKEND AT ARIZONA SCIENCE CENTERSeptember 8–9, 2018 | 8:30 a.m.– 5 p.m. 

Arizona Science Center is excited to offer FREE general admission on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9 courtesy of Fry's Food Stores to all that have a curious mind about science! Guests will be able to roam around all four levels of the Center’s hands-on science galleries. In addition to FREE general admission, guests can enjoy shows in the Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater and Dorrance Planetarium for only $5. The Science Center will host a variety of hands-on demonstrations and activities throughout the weekend (will vary per day).

The Center will be extremely busy, guests are advised to be prepared for heavy crowds. All guests will need to check-in prior to entering the Science Center. To help move the ticket lines faster, please register online, purchase tickets to shows and print out your tickets.

Dynamic Earth |10:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m.

Explore the inner workings of Earth’s climate – dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes.

Grand Tour of the Solar System | 11 a.m., 2:15 p.m.

Voyage through our spectacular Solar System and visit each planet, comparing and contrasting their features.

Supervolcanoes | 12 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

Explore the rare types of volcanic eruptions that lurk, like sleeping dragons, beneath the surface of planet Earth. The story of these big blowouts is a tale of havoc and mayhem.

Amazon Adventures | 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.

Discover the visually stunning rainforest with explorer Henry Bates who journeyed through the Amazon for 11 years.

Oceans: Our Blue Planet | 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m.

Watch athletic dolphins at play and a clever octopus hiding in plain sight. From the ice-crusted Arctic to the crystalline tropics, explore the dramatic events and intimate lives of the ocean’s most extraordinary creatures.

Make N' Take | $5 per item

Try your hand at one of our making experiences - choose from one of our pre-made wood laser cutter kits. Use wood glue and an assortment of sharpie makers to complete your project. Great for all ages!

Evans Family Skycycle | $5 per person*

Suspended nearly 15 feet in the air, the Evans Family SkyCycle teaches riders about the principles of counterbalance and center of gravity, while taking a ride on the 90-foot cable.

Requirements: Must be age 7+, 54” or taller, max weight 225 lbs. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No open toe shoes, skirts or dresses.

*Available for purchase in-house only on Level 2.

FIELD TRIP FACTORY MAKES Learning Fun!

Since its founding in 1993, the Chicago based Field Trip Factory has arranged more than 18,000 free field trips for 500,000 kindergarten-through children in 43 states. Topics of trips include animal welfare and responsibility, nutrition and consumer education, fitness and safety in sports, money management eye and health safety. Each field trip offers teachers programs designed to engage students and meet life-skills education requirement now mandated in many states as well as National Learning Standards. Children of all abilities can apply classroom lessons in a real-life setting, and because they are not in may not even realize that they are learning.
