Arizona State Fair 2018

Our visit to the fair this year was a little special. We toured the fair with Special (Needs) lenses, and observed from a sensory sensitive perspective.

The best way to share this is with a check list.

Parking was affordable, accessible, and available. The entire fair is encircled with copious offsite, and onsite inexpensive parking.

Admission/Rates ranged from $7-10 entry fee, and individual ride and game fees varied. Bands and discounts are available on designated days. Please visit the site https://azstatefair.com .

Toilets/Facilities were clean, convenient , family friendly, and average wait periods.

Handicap Accessible Amenities were available, and affordable. We were fortunate enough to park onsite, and effortlessly navigated through the parking lot. Upon entering the gate we immediately noticed rental scooters , and wheel chairs available for use. Handicap accessible ramps were visible, and staffed with friendly accommodating customer service representatives.

Sensory/Safety Accommodations available (for a fee) to patrons were ear plugs, and ear muffs. Tactile Accommodations was a small foot massaging machine conveniently positioned close to the exit. For one quarter the machine offers a seat, and welcomely timed foot massages to comfort your tired feet. My son has sensory challenges, and discovered something special in this device.

Food Booths were abundant, special diet friendly (Fruit, and drinks for Vegetarians), and unique. Let’s face it, this is why we visit state fairs- we want the unique foods that typically aren’t available anywhere else. ATM machines were properly positioned, and convenient.

Paparazzi-Upon entering, Photographers greeted patrons, and (for a fee) offered professional fair photos-This beats a selfie stick any day.

Arizona State Fail 2018 delivered an incredible variety of friendly unique rides, entertainment,vendors, and games.

The highlight of our visit was a special behind the scenes visit with All Star Motorsport Productions http://www.allstarmonster.com. I had the pleasure of meeting with All Star Motorsport Productions Event Coordinator Stacey. Stacey gave a quick interview. I asked Stacey the following questions;

1. Are there any special skills required to become a Monster Truck Driver? Stacey explained that most Monster Truck drivers have been connected to trucks, motorsports, and racing. Majority of the Monster Truck operators love trucks, enjoy traveling, are very flexible, family friendly, and have some form of basic auto mechanic skills.

2. How long have you been affiliated with Monster Trucks? Stacey told me that he has always loved trucks and motorsports since he was six years old. Stacey actually started operating(in some form) Monster Trucks about 17 years ago and is passionate about the industry. Stacey talked about how he thoroughly enjoys the crowds, the families, and the explosive energy from the audience.

3. How are the large Monster Trucks transported? Majority of the equipment is disassembled, and packed in a large trailer truck. An inventoried stock of tools, tires, engine chassis, and mechanic components are neatly stored in one unit with the Monster Trucks. The large trailer trucks have comfortable truck driver sleeping quarters customized for one driver or a small family.

4. Does All Star Motorsport Productions travel and tour all over the USA? Yes, http://www.allstarmonster.com provides a schedule/events link with tour dates, Etc. I asked about snow, and how shows are performed in colder climates. Stacey told me that shows scheduled in colder areas have indoor venues available. Stacey commented that The Fourth of July Weekend is one of many popular holiday events.

The entire All Star Monstersport Productions Monster Truck Show was incredible. We observed an elite team of professional individuals connect with the crowd, and deliver an energetic, explosive show that left me excited about attending my next Monster Truck event.
