Arizona State Fair 2018-Monster Trucks

                                                               Arizona State Fair 2018
Our visit to the fair this year was a little special. We toured the fair with Special (Needs) lenses, and observed from a sensory sensitive perspective.
The best way to share this is with a check list.
Parking was affordable, accessible, and available.

Gluten Free In AZ

My how time flies. The GFAF Expo will be in Glendale, AZ in June. We have been fortunate to attend most of the Arizona expos, and find each event more exciting every year. The term Gluten Free is a word that was almost foreign more than 20 years ago. We are so very pleased to know that awareness, variety, and healthy choices is now the NORM. Restaurants, schools, hospitals, coffee shops, and most retail shops offer consumers the option, and empowers them with the freedom to now dine out and explore recipes/dishes.

Power to the People-Gluten Free & Allergen Free Expo Phoenix

GFAF managed to wow the Valley again. This year's expo was chocked full of booths and vendors sharing samples and knowledge. The event was a one day expo this year, unlike last
year's two day expo. The lines moved quickly, and we were spoiled with so many samples that I had no room for dinner that evening. The variety of local and national vendors also stood out more this year. We make a point of attending the GF&AF Expo, as quite a few of our followers are parents/caregivers of kiddos diagnosed special needs with food allergy challenges. Food allergies is a number one topic amongst our community. I actually talked to families(at the GF&AF Expo) who have testimonies about how their whole world changed, based on modifying their diet. Knowledge and insight is empowering. The power to control how, what and why we need to eat certain foods allows one to break things(nutrition) down to the most basic level. I honestly think that when we shop, and look at food/nutrition from a wellness perspective, we tend to refrain from buying so much junk. Valuing the impact of how food affects us is the mission of GFAF Expo.

GFAF Expo In Phoenix, AZ

Well, It is that time again. GFAF Expo Time. We were honored with the priviledge to attend last year's GFAF Expo. Not only was the entire experience enlightening. We met some awesome attendees/vendors, and walked away with a wealth of knowledge. We hope to see you again this year at the Expo. Just in case you forgot, the event is on Saturday 17 January 2015 10:00AM-4:00PM at Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa  9495 W. Coyotes Boulevard Glendale, Arizona 85305
Phone: (623) 937-3700.

MIMS The Word

Last month I conducted a visit to the MIM(Musical Instrument Museum). Let's just say that this is probably one of the most exciting interactive museums in Arizona, or maybe even the world. The tour began with a check in at the front desk, literature(map/guide)and a ticket purchase. Part of the MIM ticket purchase included an awesome set of headphones(loaners only), and a free souvenir bracelet(same one on sale at the gift shop for less than $4.00). I was fortunate enough to receive a personal tour from the MIM staff.

Going Gluten-Free, Even With Diabetes

Going Gluten-Free, Even With Diabetes

(NAPSI)—A new guide can help millions of Americans who have diabetes, celiac disease or both.
Celiac disease, an inherited autoimmune disorder, makes people incapable of digesting gluten, so the common treatment for this condition is a totally gluten-free diet. The strong link between celiac disease and diabetes can mean a double challenge of finding foods to fit the dietary restrictions of both conditions. It doesn’t need to mean giving up dishes you love, however.
